Hazel Thompson Brickey Scarborough, 83, of Kingsport passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023.Hazel was born January 20, 1940, in Kingsport, TN to the late Frank Thompson and Ethel Jones Thompson.She was member of Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.Hazel enjoyed gardening, working with flowers and baking cakes.Through the years, Hazel had worked for Food City, Giant, ITT North Electric and Bogie’s Burgers & More.In addition to her parents, Hazel was also preceded in death by first husband, Callis Brickey; second husband, Fred Scarborough; sister, Geneva Greer; and brothers, Carl Light and Bill Thompson.Those left to cherish Hazel’s memory are her son, Johnny Brickey; daughter, Karen Glenn; brother, Earl Light; grandchildren, Gary Brickey, Ginger Osborne, Makayla Muncy; great-grandchildren, Brantley and Skylar Brickey, Ella and Levi Osborne and Holden and Maddison Muncy; and special friends.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, March 10, 2023, in the Fireside Room of Oak Hill Funeral Home.A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 11, 2023, in the Garden of the Last Supper at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
