Helen Faye Foulk Cox, 71, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Holston Valley Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Mrs. Cox retired from Holston Defense Corp. as a chemist after 33 years of service. She had an open giving heart and never met a stranger. Mrs. Cox was a loving and devoted wife, mother, “Nan” to 2 wonderful grandsons, Jake and Mason, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Haram and Addie Sumner Foulk; four brothers and four sisters. Surviving are her loving husband of 33 years, Johnny P. Cox; daughter, Kimberlyn Woods (Job); son, Kevin Shelton (Rebecca); grandchildren, Jake Shelton and Mason Shelton; two sisters, Viola Rowland and Bona Brooks (Richard); several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 2 pm Sunday, March 31, 2019, in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel, Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services A Celebration of Helen’s Life will be conducted at 2 pm with Pastor Josh Kilbourne officiating. Committal Service will follow in the chapel. Mrs. Cox will be laid to rest in the Oak Hill IV Mausoleum at Oak Hill Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses on the 2nd Floor Heart Center at Holston Valley Hospital. The care of Helen Cox and her family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.
