Henry Emerson Taylor

Henry E. Taylor, 80, formerly of Kingsport, passed away on March 5, 2019 in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was the son of Henry Vernard Taylor and Anna Ruth Sparks.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Franklin Taylor and his sister, June Taylor Hixon.Henry was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Mead Paper Co. after 25 years. Henry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved playing golf and was member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Billie Greer Taylor; his daughter, Robin Taylor Qualls; two grandsons, Tanner Qualls and Brandon Qualls; a great-granddaughter, Lorelai Qualls; siblings, Bernice Jones of Kingsport, Florence Francisco of Bristol, VA, Kate Whetsell of Radford, VA, and Gene Taylor of Christiansburg, VA; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, Monday, March 11, 2019 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jim Fields officiating.A Military Graveside conducted by the American Legion Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 will be held following the service in the Garden of Resurrection at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
