Howard Collins, 91, passed away peacefully into Gods arms, with his loving daughter by his side Friday, April 19, 2019, in Church Hill, Tennessee.Howard was born February 24, 1928, in Nickelsville, Virginia to Charlie and Josie (Bellamy Hall) Collins, residing there until 1951, when he married the love of his life and moved to Kingsport.Howard worked for Stones Grocery and Kingsport Press until the Strike in 1963, after which he followed construction work as a millwright in Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Howard was a member of the Millwright/Carpenters Union in Morganton, West Virginia.Howard was a proud member of Whiteside Masonic Lodge #13 in Blountville, Tennessee.He was an avid coon hunter for more than 60 years and spent countless time hunting the woods with his beloved coon hounds. A Christian for many years,Howard became a member of West View Baptist Church in 2007 and loved worshiping with his many friends.Howard was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 66 years Imogene Davidson Collins; sons, Larry Collins, Michael (Chub) Collins and Ricky Collins; parents and grandparents, as well as 9 sisters and brothers.Howard is survived by his daughter, Gail (Bryan) Hulse; daughter in law, Paula Collins; brothers, Fred Collins and Paul (Ruth) Collins; sister, Dorothy Hillman, as well as numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Several special nieces and nephews as well as children and families he has taken into his heart over the years.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 5:45 pm Monday, April 22, 2019, at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel or anytime at the residence of his daughter, Gail.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.A Masonic Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Masonic Garden, by the Whiteside Masonic Lodge #13 of Blountville. Pall Bearers will be John Forbes, Darius McConnell, Hayden Begley, George Gray, Jr., Landon Gray, Colin Smith and Mark McDavid.
