To the family of Hubert Goins--and especially Wayne.
Jan and I just heard of your dad's passing and wanted to express our deepest condolence...
When reflecting on memories of your dad, I can still see him climbing that mountain across from Mule's barn in Hawkins County. He had his limp, his folding chair and his rifle and he was going deer hunting! It wasn't an easy trip, and it took him awhile, but he was determined to get up that mountain!
The last time Jan and I saw your dad was at the Cracker Barrel in Johnson City. This was years ago and he and Ruby were on their way to Jonesborough--to go square dancing! If life is a race (Hebrews 12:1), Hubert was a fierce competitor!
The point of these recollections is to suggest that your dad had a deep zeal for life and lived it wide open! He was one of the lucky ones...
May Hubert rest in peace... he earned it!
Our deepest sympathy,
Jim and Jan McNeese
