Irene Pratt Cole

Irene Pratt Cole, 93, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, surrounded by her family whom she loved with all her heart.She was born on May 14, 1924, in Hawkins County, Tennessee, to the late, Tom and Mary Ann Pratt.Irene was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cole, in 1981; brothers, Rev. Walter “Ray” Pratt and James Edward Pratt; sister, Anna Lee Ford; and her daughter-in-law, Judy Cole.Those left to cherish Irene’s memory are her son; Eugene Cole; daughter, Janice (Larry) Harrison; three grandchildren, Kristi (Richard) Hicks, Tammy (Steven) Hayes, and Brad (Brooke) Harrison; six great-grandchildren, Courtney (Austin) Byrns, Makayla Harrison, Callie Stone, Makenzie Harrison, Madelyn Hayes, and Ryan Hayes; great-great-grandson, Braxton Byrns; sister, Reta Kate Burke; brothers, Rev. J.R. (Hazel) Pratt, Tom (Billie) Pratt, Jr., Louis Glen Pratt, and former daughter-in-law, Paulette Poli.Irene was a member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church. She was a beautician, and she had owned her own shop for many years. Irene was also an instructor at Barton’s Beauty School until her retirement.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018, in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel with Dr. David Harrison, Pastor, Homeland Baptist Church, officiating.A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper. Serving as pallbearers will be Eugene Cole, Brad Harrison, Richard Hicks, Steven Hayes, Ryan Hayes, and Paul Peters.The family would like to extend our special thanks to Indian Path Hospital, NHC, and Hospice for their wonderful care and kindness extended to our family during this difficult time.
