Pastor Ivan Fillers, of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 10, 2019, at his residence with his loving family by his side. Ivan was born on September 17, 1951. He was the Pastor at Bradshaw Chapel, Calvary Baptist, Beech Creek Missionary Baptist, and Mount Moriah. He served as the Youth Pastor at Mount View and Church Hill Independent Baptist. He enjoyed being involved in the community. He was a Boy Scout Leader and Eagle Scout Advisor. He also coached basketball, baseball, and softball. Ivan retired from the Hawkins County Press after 25 years. He was a dedicated husband, father and Pop who loved spending time with his family. In his free time he enjoyed doing wood work in his shed. He was a diehard Washington Nationals and Tennessee Vols fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan & Ruby Fillers; sister, Linda Short; infant brother, Daniel; his Father and Mother-in-law, J.P. & Esther Bombailey; brothers-in-law, Jay & Wayne Bombailey; and granddaughter, Natasha Fletcher. Ivan is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 47 years, Diann Bombailey Fillers; two sons, Chip & wife Amanda Fillers of Elkridge, MD and Mack & wife Joan Fletcher of Church Hill; daughter, Brooke & husband Scott Arnold of Church Hill; grandchildren, Seth & Vanessa Fillers, Jazmyne & Dakota Arnold, Matthew & wife Ali Fletcher; brother, Ty Fillers; sisters Claudette Ellis and Sonya Smith; four great grandchildren; a special brother & sister-in-law, Clay and Carol Ellis; sister-in-law, Jackie Rhine; several nephews & nieces; and three special fur babies, Cha-Cha, Brinkley, and Sissy. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 215 Montgomery Ave, Church Hill, TN 37642. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will follow at 7:00 pm. The service will be led by Mack Fletcher and music will be provided by True Faith Quartet. Visitation at the residence is welcome at any time.
