Jack L. Tate, 82, of Kingsport passed away peacefully on September 1, 2019 at his home with his family by his side.Jack was born in Kingsport on August 28, 1937 to the late George and Ruby Benfield Tate. He was a member of Rock Heritage Baptist Church and worked many years at Mason Dixon and then retired from Pave Well Paving Company.In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Wilma Gaye Tate; daughter, Donna Davis; great-grandson, Christopher Kyker; and sister, Janice Shrewsbury.Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Wanda B. Tate and his baby girl, Bella; children, Diane Ballinger (Steve), Pam White, Jack D. Tate; step-children, Sherri Marshall (Jeff), Michael Aistrop (Michelle), Rodney Aistrop (Cindy); grandchildren, Darrin Willis, Bridget Peters, Robby White, Becky White, Travis White, Jeremy Lee, Cherica Lee, Shawna Lee, Daniel Lee, Jack D. Tate, Jr., Randy Tate, Mitchell Tate, Jon Tate and Martin Tate, Wesley Dunn, Josh Dunn, Aaron Aistrop, Arika Aistrop, Hunter Aistrop, Jeffrey Marshall, Amanda Marshall, Beth Marshall, Whitney Marshall and Ashley Hall; 49 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Greene (Milum), Linda Byers (Donnie) and George Tate (Linda); several nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at Rock Heritage Baptist Church, 4838 Fort Henry Drive, Kingsport, TN. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Trevor Knight and Brother Roy Tucker officiating.Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am. Jack's Son and Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s honor to Rock Heritage Baptist Church.The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Avalon Hospice for the care and compassion through this difficult time.The care of Jack L. Tate and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.
