Baldwin, 78, of Mount Carmel, TN, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 28, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.He was born in Kingsport and had lived in Mount Carmel for the past 37 years.James retired from Eastman Chemical Co. in the Polymer’s Division in 1996 after 30 years of service. After his retirement, he was owner/operator of Baldwin Builders, building quality homes in the region.He attended Trinity Bell Chapel Church, Gate City, VA.James enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Elizabeth Gilliam Baldwin; sister, Phyllis Reeves and brother, Bill Baldwin.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Wanda Payne Baldwin; sons, James Baldwin and Brian and wife, Brenda; special grandchildren, Jamie Renee’ Baldwin and Cooper Jackson Baldwin; sisters, Gerry Walsh and Janie Baldwin; brother, Gary Baldwin; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 6:45 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Riley Boy officiating.An Entombment Committal Service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Chapel Mausoleum.
