James “Red” Dykes, Sr., 72, of Fall Branch, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at his residence after a short illness.He was born in Kingsport and had lived in Fall Branch for the past 23 years.Red enjoyed his horses, camping & loved spending time with his family.He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Blanche Dykes; the love of his life, Hazel Dykes; son, Jeffrey Wayne Dykes and a grandson, Joshua Cody Crawford.Surviving are his daughter, Anna Crawford and husband, Earney and son, James Robert Dykes, Jr. and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Caitlyn Crawford, Shawna Hamilton and husband, Greg and Kristin Ekhaguere and husband, David; great grandchildren, Cheyanna and Brantlee; Hamilton; sister, Betty Jo Owens; brother, Luther Dykes, Jr.; several nieces and nephews and Red’s best friend, Jim Hicks.The family will receive friends anytime at the home.The family will have a Private Celebration of Life Service Saturday, March 2, 2019.The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Cindy Cisco and to Judy Hensley and Lee Mounts of Amedysis Hospice for their compassion and care.Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.oakhillfh.comThe care of James “Red” Dykes, Sr. and his family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.
