James "Jim" E. Armitage

James “Jim” E. Armitage Jr., age 77, of Kingsport, TN passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018, surrounded by his family at his home.He was preceded in death by both his parents, James E. and Jamis R. Armitage; grandson, Riley Chase; nephew, Wright Smith.Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judith C. Armitage, along with 3 children; Phil Armitage of Kingsport, Allison Crawford (Richard) of Knoxville and Dottie Chase (Travis) of Kingsport; five grandchildren, Chloe and Philip Armitage, Bianca Crawford, Allison and Emma Chase; great- grandson Jaxson; and his sister, Kay Stroman of SC.Jim enjoyed time with his family. He was an avid motorcycle rider and longtime SE&TRA and AMA Member. He was a simple man and lived his life to its fullest potential.A special thank you to his long- time friend, Jerry Armour, for his dedication of friendship and his support provided to the family during this difficult journey.
