Janice F. Wells, 78, of Kingsport, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Holston Valley Hospital ER after a long illness.She was born in Blackwater, VA and had lived in Kingsport most of her life.Mrs. Wells retired from Hillside Manor in Housekeeping after several years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.Mrs. Wells enjoyed working in her flower garden and quilting. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Wells; son, James Woods; parents, Henry and Lori McMillian Willis; sisters, Drema Boyd and Billie Steffie and brothers, Carl Willis and Paul Willis.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Bernice Stafford; sons, Doug Woods and wife, Rhonda, Gary Woods and wife, Kim, and Jeff Woods and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Chris Woods, Emmanuel Woods, Emily Woods, Kevin Smith and wife, Shannon, Eric Smith, Brittany Conner and husband, Douglas, Cody Woods and Brandy Woods; great granddaughter, Isabella Conner; sister, Sally Price; brothers, Coleman Willis, Johnny Willis and Robert Willis; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 6:45 pm Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel.A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Mike Stout officiating. Music will be provided by Stanley Sherfey and the Gospel Crossroads.A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Devotion. Pallbearers will be sons and & grandsons.Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 am. My favorite memory of you mamaw was when I brought you food and you told me that you liked it. That me feel so great to know that I could bring your grandbaby over too see you, but I could bring you food that you loved from your favorite resturant also. I love you and miss you badly....you are always in our hearts no matter what we may go through you are always there with me no matter what. Love you mamaw and tell papaw I said hello and I love and miss him too....
So sorry for your loss. She was a sweet lady. We're thinking of you, Doug, Gary, and Jeff.
My greatest memory of you is that you was always there for me I feel so lucky to have had a a Mom as great as you I’m going to miss talking to you every day I miss you now, forever and always love you bunches Momma.
