Jean Brewer, 76, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Wexford House. She was born July 10, 1943, in Kingsport, to the late James and Dorothy Roberson.Jean was a loving, kind and considerate Christian lady who was a great friend to all she knew. She was a “social butterfly” who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and she also enjoyed reading and shopping.Jean was a member of Grace Point Fellowship, the Red Hat Club and a 1961 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School where she was a cheerleader.Jean retired from Eastman Chemical Company as an Administrative Assistant following twenty-five years of service.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Brewer and her son, Chris Brewer.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tina Brewer and Tracy Pickering (Randell); grandchildren, Austin Pickering and Carly Pickering; great-grandchildren, Jordan Pickering and Marissa Crouch; special little boy in Jean’s heart, Marcus; sister, Janet Mead (Marvin); nephews, Kelly Mead (Kali) and Kyle Mead (Mallory); great-niece, Bella Mead; great-nephew, Mason Mead; special friends, Peggy Bass, Betty Willis and Janet Owen; special dog, “Scooter.”The family will receive friends 4:00-5:45 pm Friday, January 17, 2020, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 pm with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating. Music will be under the direction of Brad Potter.The Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Masonic Garden with Pastor Paul Warrick officiating.
