Jeffrey D. Amyx

Jeffrey D. Amyx, 50, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born September 23, 1967, in Kingsport, to Arlene G. Carr and the late Jack E. Amyx.Jeffrey was a loving son, father, grandfather and brother who was kind to everyone. He would literally give you the “shirt off his back.” He enjoyed fishing, working on old cars and watching boxing. He was a sports enthusiast and was quite an athlete. He played football at Gravely Middle School, Lynn View High School and Sullivan North High School.He retired as General Manager at Mast Tank Cleaning.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Megan Amyx and his sister, Jackie Amyx.Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Arlene Carr; sons, Kevin Amyx and Devon Franklin; daughter, Jessie Amyx; brothers, Tony Amyx, Billy Amyx, Aaron Carr and Casey Carr; several other brothers and sisters; granddaughters, Madison Odom and Marley Lycans; several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 pm on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.The care of Jeffrey D.
