Jerry R. Goldsmith

Jerry Richard Goldsmith, 77, of Kingsport, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 14, 2020, with his family by his side. He was born March 7, 1943, in Asheville, N.C. to the late Haskel and Yvonne Goldsmith. Jerry was a twenty-one year veteran of the U.S.A.F. where he retired with the rank of Master Sargent in 1983. Jerry moved to Tennessee with his family in 1991. He loved the outdoors, loved to hunt, fish, garden, listen to and play music and he loved to travel with his family. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Troy, Emmet, Herbert and Bert; sisters, Eva and Blanch. Those left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Hanna Goldsmith; daughter, Tammy Goldsmith, son, Charles Goldsmith and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Troy and Ashli Goldsmith. A Military Rites Committal Service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at 2:00 pm under the Portico of Oak Hill Funeral Home and will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Meditation.
