Jo Ella Hurst Hulse, 85, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019, at her residence. She was born August 2, 1933, in Sullivan County, TN to the late Albert and Ruby Hutson Hurst.Jo Ella was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was an avid homemaker and a great cook. Jo Ella was especially fond of flowers.She was employed at the Kingsport Press for many years and later worked in the grocery industry at the Golden Rule Market.Jo Ella was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Ketron; brother, Jimmy Hurst.Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert Hulse; son, Allen Hulse; granddaughter, Heather Hulse; sister, Betty Ketron (Frank); brother-in-law, Zeke Ketron.The family will receive friends 12:00-1:45 pm Tuesday, February 5, 2019, in the Fireside Room at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating. Robert and Alan, my heart goes out to you both for your loss! I grew up in the neighborhood and had the pleasure working with Jo at Golden Rule Grocery while in college. She was always kind to me and had a smile that would light up a room! My condolences to you and your family!
