Joe Starnes

Joe M. Starnes, 78, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at his home with his loving family by his side.He was born January 15, 1942, in Sullivan County, TN to the late Samuel and Ethel Starnes.Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who always put others first. He enjoyed fishing and spending quality time with his family.Joe was a member of State Line Baptist Church and retired from the City of Kingsport in the Maintenance Department following thirty-three years of service.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra K. Starnes; sister, Betty Starnes; brother, Junior Starnes; mother of his children, Edith Ray Starnes.Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Joe Starnes, Mary Bowen and husband, Barry, honorary daughter Vicki Robinson; grandchildren, Tiffany and Bradley Knowles; great-grandchildren, Bryce and William; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 26, 2020, from 5:00-6:45 pm in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home.
