Jose "Joe" Chapa

Jose “Joe” Chapa, 75, of Church Hill, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020, at Holston Valley Hospital after a short illness.He was born in Raymondville, TX, lived most of his life in California and moved to Kingsport in 2019.Joe retired as a Produce Manager in the grocery business. He was a member of Kingsport First Assembly Church.Joe enjoyed reading, going to church and loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Adela Chapa. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Yolanda Chapa; daughter, Cindy Ballew and husband, Gary; son, Anthony Chapa; granddaughters, Krisaley, Lexie, Ashlee, Kaylee, Victoria, Emalee, Allison and Maddison; great granddaughter, Ava; sisters, Stella, Dora and Irean; brothers, Roland, Robert, Rene, Richard, and Mario; several nieces and nephews.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Kingsport First Assembly Church.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kingsport First Assembly Church, 2213 Brandon Lane Kingsport, TN 37660.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses on Third Floor Wilcox, Holston Valley Hospital.The care of Jose “Joe” Chapa and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
