Josephine Collins

Josephine Collins, 87, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 8, 2019, She was born on May 5, 1931, in Duffield, Virginia, but she had lived most of her life in Kingsport. Josephine was of the Holiness Faith.Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Collins; father, Dave Neely; mother, Avie Neely; eleven brothers and sisters; three children, Loretta Collins and Rosemary White of Georgia and Sammy Collins of Kingsport.Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Joyce Collins Wells, Johnny Collins (Donna), Benny Collins; sister, Helen Thompson; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren; special friends, David and Connie Henry; and special daughter-in-law, Donna Collins.The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2019, in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 6:00 pm with Pastor Cecil Necessary officiating. Music will be provide by Diane Necessary, Josh Collins, and Cory Collins.A Graveside Service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, April 12, 2019, in Section D of Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those attending the Graveside Service are asked to meet at the gravesite at 9:45 am.Pallbearers will be Jack Wells, Jr., Jeff Wells, Victor Fleming, Alex Keller, Terry Keller, Preston Fleming, and Devin Fleming.The care of Josephine Collins and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
