Joy Hall

Joy Hall, 88, of Kingsport, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, November 6, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was born May 10, 1930, in Appalachia, VA to the late James and Mary Sumpter Estep.Joy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was loved by all. She was a member of Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church for most of her life and sang in the Calvary Road Quartet for many years. She also taught Sunday School and directed the church plays for many years.Mrs. Hall was co-owner of Tri-City Travel Trailers, Kingsport.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Hall; three sisters and two brothers.Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, John David Hall and Mike Hall (Vicki); grandchildren, Miranda Hardie (Jay), Alyson Hall (Zach Graves), Brandi Mittelsteadt (Jesse), Mandi Arnold and Ryan Arnold (Melissa); great-grandchildren, Alexis Pruitt, Emerson Graves, Mason Hardie, Kingston Hardie and Graham Mittelsteadt; brother, Harold Estep (Jeanette); special niece, Linda Whitley (Larry); several other nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, November 9, 2018, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Larry Winkle and Pastor Earl Miller officiating. Music will be provided by Janice Gaither and Darlinda Lawson.A private family Entombment Service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice, her caregivers, Lori Burton and Mandi Arnold, and special friends Wanda Riner and Mary Darnell for their love and compassionate care of our mother.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church, 1100 Nelms Lane, Kingsport, TN 37665.The care of Joy Hall and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
