Kathryn Ann Blankenship

Kathryn Ann F. Blankenship met her Jesus face to face on Sunday, March 17, 2019. Kathryn was born October 23, 1953, in Kingsport, to the late Odus Clay and Beulah Freeman.She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1972 with honors and graduated from UT Knoxville and the UT School of Law in 1979. Kathryn was the first female trial lawyer in Kingsport.She worked for the TN Education Association as a Mediator for the Teachers Union and then returned to Kingsport to be appointed as a Legal Writer and then Supervisor for the Social Security Disability Division.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Zelda Faye Neeley; nephew, Derrick Neeley; Jack, her beloved Rottweiler.Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 25 years, Edward Roy Blankenship; her pet maltese; step-children, Greg Blankenship and daughter, Michelle, Tim Blankenship and wife, Sherry, Julia Davis and husband, Richard; and the “world’s best friend” Kolbi who helped care for Kathryn for over 3 years; cousins, Richard and Penny Jones, Olan and Sylvia Jones.The family will receive friends Sunday, March 24, 2109, from 12:00-1:45 pm in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeremy McMillan officiating. Music will be provided by Dana Frazier and Patsy Phillips.Graveside Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Good Shepherd.Flowers will be welcome but donations to the Holston Home for Children will be blessed.The care of Kathryn Ann F.
