Larry Neal Boggs, 80, entered into the gates of Heaven on Thursday, August 16, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is surely rejoicing at meeting his Savior. II Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”Larry was born on May 11, 1938, in Kingsport, TN to Keith and Georgia Boggs. He loved his church and was an avid member of Christian Life Center. He served in the United States Army and Army Reserve.Larry retired from AFG, he enjoyed hunting, attending church, meeting his friends for breakfast weekly, visits from his family and working on his farm.He was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Overbay and Mary Alice Clemmons.Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Ethel Deloris Boggs; brother, Michael Boggs; sisters, Linda King and Anna Marie Neeley; sons, Gary Boggs (wife Robin Boggs), Richard Boggs (wife Faith Boggs), and Shane Boggs (wife Vanessa Boggs); Grandchildren, Regina Boggs-Robinette (husband Shawn Robinette), Shanna Boggs (husband Wesley Rogers), Bridget Howerton-Adams (husband Justin Adams), Kenneth Boggs, Chelsea Boggs, and Matthew Boggs; Great grandchildren, Logan, Hannah, and Jessica Rogers; Tristan and Kaiya Robinette; Launa Howerton, Lincoln, Lucas, and Lanie Adams; Tyler and Kimberley Boggs. Several nieces and nephews. Also a very special little buddy, Ivan Hawkins.The family will receive friends 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at the Christian Life Center, 2401 N. John B. Dennis Hwy., Kingsport 37660. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 pm with Pastor Keith Barker and Pastor Eddie Johnson officiating.A Graveside Service follow at 1:30 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Meditation. Military honors will be conducted by The American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265. Family members will serve as pallbearers.The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mountain States Home Health and Larry’s caregivers, Ginny Bentley, Susan Dukart and granddaughter, Shanna Boggs.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Larry’s honor be made to Christian Life Center, Kingsport.The care of Larry Boggs and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
