Lenny P. Haynes

Lenny P. Haynes, 64, of Kingsport, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019, at Wexford House. He was born March 19, 1955, in Kingsport, to Kenneth Haynes and the late, Emogene Calihan Haynes.Lenny was a loving father and grandfather whose main priority was his family and friends. He was an avid UT Vols and Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and playing golf.Lenny was a graduate of Sullivan Central High School and following graduation he entered the Apprenticeship Program at Eastman Chemical Company. He retired from Eastman as a Supervisor following thirty-nine years of service.Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Chad Haynes (Stephanie) and Josh Haynes; father, Kenneth Haynes; granddaughter, Abigail Haynes; sister, Donna DeVault (Bob); brother, Stephen Haynes; special aunt, Jackie Tate (Darrell); several nieces and nephews.A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Sunday, October 13, 2019, from 1:00-2:30 pm in the Fireside Room at Oak Hill Funeral Home. The Graveside and Committal Service will be private. Pastor Larry Anderson will officiate. Music will be provided by Rick Anderson and Thomas Taylor.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909.The family extends their sincere gratitude to Lenny’s many friends who supported him during his illness, the health care professionals at Holston Valley Medical Center, staff at NHC, staff of Wexford House and the Sullivan County EMS.
