Leslie “Snookie” Coomer, 58 of Kingsport passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 3, 2017 with his family by his side. Mr. Coomer was a devoted and loving husband, and a friend to all. He enjoyed martial arts, photography and guns. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. Mr. Coomer loved the Lord and was a devout Christian.Preceding him in death are his parents, Hoke and Mildred McConnell; cousin, Reggie McConnell. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 27 years, Charlene Hood Coomer; daughter, Erin Reed and husband Sean; grandchildren, Chase and Eli; brothers, Bobby McConnell and wife Kristen and Eric McConnell and fiancé Debbie; his special little furry girl, Penny Coomer (cat); several nieces, nephews and cousins.A Private Family Committal Service will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Oak Hill Memoria Park, Chapel Mausoleum with Pastor Mike Sampson officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Coomer’s honor may be made the Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Rd, Bristol, TN 37620.The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Wellmont Hospice House for the kindness, care and compassion shown to Mr. Coomer and the family during this difficult time.The care of Leslie “Snookie” Coomer and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary

Some of the best times of my life were spent with you, Cousin, back when we were younguns' down in Big Poor Valley! Snook, you were more like a Brother and my life was better because you were a part of it. Now you can keep Reggie company in Heaven! I envy you!! REST IN PEACE
