Lester “Les” Dingus, 87, of Church Hill, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center after a long illness.He was born in Scott Co., VA, lived most of his life in Kingsport and had lived in Church Hill for the past four years.Mr. Dingus enjoyed working on small engines, working cross word puzzles and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice Laney Dingus; sisters, Elsie, Bonnie, Mabel, Bessie and Ruth; and brothers, Don, Jr. John, “Red” and Lee and great granddaughter, Logan Rose.Surviving are his daughters, Lisa Weems and Kathy Bremer; special grandchildren, Nakesha, Latasha; grandchildren, JaLee and Jason; special great- grandchildren, Lexxus, Jacaina, Montavious and Ryland; great- grandchildren, Molly, Sullivan, Landon, Cassie and Chaè; brother, Jack Dingus; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Oak Hill Funeral Home in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Minister Shannon Sizemore officiating.A Graveside Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper. Uncle Lester was the sweetest man. Loved by all and he adored his babies. Heaven is smiling with him there. Les is likely Mayor of something there by now. Rejoice with Aunt Clarice and all our family already there. Love you Uncle Lester!!
