Lucille Peters, 99, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Indian Path Community Hospital. She was born September 2, 1919, in Scott County, VA to the late James and Emily Beaver Collins.She was a loving and caring lady who never met a stranger. She was a devoted homemaker whose family brought her the greatest joy in life. Above all, she was a committed Christian and loved Jesus with all her heart. She faithfully attended the Apostolic Gospel Church.Lucille enjoyed canning, gardening, watching Christian television and witnessing for the Lord. She retired from the Sundae Shoppe.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Peters; daughter, Cathy Weatherly; sister, Goldie Horne; brothers, Willie Collins, Carl J. Collins, Ralph Collins and Hughie Collins.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Phyllis Bellamy (Tyrone) and Barbara Cox (Mike); grandchildren, Lori Jung, Shannon Cox, Angela McKinley, Meah Cox, Lebreska Kern, James D. Weatherly III and E. Clinton T. Bellamy; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Harris and Virginia Lambert; brothers, James E. Collins and Blanard Collins (Faye); several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 12:00-1:45 pm in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm with Pastor Greg Street and Bishop Hagan Webb officiating.Entombment and Committal Service will follow in Mausoleum III at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
