Margaret LouMargaret Louise Smallwood, age 89, of Kingsport, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 25, 2019. Margaret was born in Berea, KY on January 3, 1930, to the late McKinley and Mary Jane Lovett Harrison. She was a devout Christian who was strong in her faith and dedicated to her church and family. Margaret was an avid seamstress and gardener who was always willing to help someone in need. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smallwood; son, Donald Charles Smallwood; grandson, Donald Charles Smallwood, Jr.; sister, Ruth Smallwood and brothers, Herbert, John D., Poss and Lloyd Harrison.Left to cherish Margaret’s memory are her daughter, Marjorie Derrick (Gary); sons, Jerry Smallwood (Tootsie) and Bernie Smallwood (Sherry); grandchildren, Donette Smallwood, Jimmy Smallwood (Sally), Brandon Smallwood (April), Jeremy Smallwood (Kelli), Kenny Thomas (Amy), Kevin Thomas (Jennifer), Alicia Monno (Enzo), Amy Smallwood and Lisa Bradley (Dustin); 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Helen Bright (Woody) and Martha Jane Conn (Eddie); brothers, Albert Harrison (Ethel), Gilbert Harrison (Bess) and Junior Harrison; several nieces, nephews and cousins.The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Saturday, December 28, 2019, at the Christian Life Center, 2401 N. John B. Dennis Hwy, Kingsport. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Jeremy Damesworth officiating.Margaret will be buried in Mount Kenton Cemetery in Paducah, KY with her husband, Charles. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s honor the Christian Life Center.The family would like to thank the many friends and former pastor and special friend, Rev. We are so sorry to just now read of the pasting of your precious Mother and a child of God. She added many wonderful memories while working in her local church in Paducah and donating her vacation weeks, in the summer, at the UPC Kentucky District Campground for many years.
