Marie Huff Bussey passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinson’s and Covid. She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Huff and Beverly Couch Huff Gass. Marie worked in the Trust Department at First American Bank for several years, and then was a valued part of Steve Huff Plumbing for 24 years until she retired in 2018.She was a loving mother to daughters, Rachel Sotello, Lisa Redmon (Joe), and Jennifer Spears (Travis); Mamaw to grandchildren Olivia, Brooklyn, Camden, and Cayden; sister to Rick Huff (Kathy), and Steve Huff (Donna); one nephew; many cousins, aunts and uncles who will miss her deeply, especially her cousin Brenda Horne who she considered a sister; and special friend, Demetrice Garst. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday April 3, 2022, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Chris Brown officiating.The care of Marie Huff Bussey has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary

Marie and I became friends by talking on the phone when she was working for Steve Huff plumbing. Through the years she assisted both me and my mother by getting us the help we needed and always showing genuine care and concern. I will truly miss her and my heart is saddened by her passing. She was a wonderful friend and my prayers are for her family. May God comfort each of you.

Dear Family of Marie, Steve, Ricky, and children, I knew your mom, Marie when I lived in Tennessee, I was her friend and also a friend of her mother, Beverly. She is a great person, I did speak with her on the phone a little after I moved away. Marie is still alive, very much alive, and she will attend her own funeral, as most people do, she will be happy to hear how much everyone loves her. We have a spirit body within this outer mortal body, and when the outside body dies, the body made of spirit matter is still alive. Marie is still the same loving person we know, and what is wonderful it that the spirit body is perfect, there is no defect or illness and it looks the way Marie looked when she was between 20 and 30 years of age--young and beautiful. She will be able to assist all of her family as they pray to God and ask for His help, He will send her because she loves all of you so much. Remember at this Easter season, that Christ even though crucified, was still alive in his spirit body and after 3 days he was resurrected and picked up his mortal body which became immortal.
