Mark Anthony Stata, Jr., 34, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022.He was born May 14, 1988, in Kingsport, to the late Mark Anthony Stata, Sr. and Kim Hauk Stata.Mark was a loving and devoted son, brother and uncle who enjoyed playing computer games.He was a member of First Christian Church, Kingsport.Mark was employed at the A.C.T. Call Center as a Customer Service Representative.In addition to his father, Mark was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, C.B. and Eileen Stata.Those left to cherish Mark’s memory are his mother, Kim Stata; brother, Scott Stata; niece, Shaylie Stata; special friend and caregiver, Alex Shank.A Graveside Service will be conducted Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Phip Sams, Minister, will officiate. in honor of Mark.

Mark spent a lot of time at our house when he and our daughter, Cate, were in youth group together at FCC. He had such an infectious laugh and grateful spirit. I am so sorry to hear of his death but know that his grandmother was rejoicing when she saw him in heaven. I’ll be praying for Scott, his family and all who have been touched by Mark’s life 🙏🏻

Scott and family: I’m so very sorry for the earthly loss of Mark. I’m thankful to have been a neighbor for over two decades and had the opportunity to watch you grow up. Even as adults, it was sometimes hard for me not to call him Marky out of habit. I will greatly miss having him beside us and his messages to Adam and I. Even our kids are in shock that Mr. Mark is not beside us anymore. Continuing to pray and will always be here to help in any way we can. Praying for the peace from God to surround you only as He can.

I have worked closely with Mark for right at a year. Mark enjoyed taco nights with his mom and his family. He would always look forward to it and we would adjust our lunches that way he could attend. Mark was a very sweet human and act lost one of our own.

I was in youth group with Mark at FCC back in 2006-2007 and we spent a lot of time listening to music and riding around in his green Mitsubishi Eclipse. He babied that car along. He was passionate about it, his grandmother, his friends, and yes, computer games. We lost touch, but I still thought of him and the stories we have. My prayers are with his family and friends.
