Marlene Robbins McCoy

Marlene Robbins McCoy, age 87, of Bluffton, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 17, 2019. Marlene was born January 14, 1932, in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to Luther and Eula Robbins. On May 6, 1951, she married Ray Scott McCoy and they began a business, Skateland and a family in Kingsport, Tennessee. While in Kingsport, Marlene and Ray became proud parents of four daughters: Venus, Valerie, Valinda, and Vicki. Their fifth daughter, Vanessa, was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after the family moved to the Midwest. Marlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four siblings, and one grandchild. Marlene is survived by her five daughters: Venus (Reid) Holland of Bluffton SC, Valerie (David) Taylor of Bluffton SC, Valinda (Richard) Hall of Cumming GA, Vicki Wagner of Waller TX, and Vanessa (Simon) D’Amico of Bluffton SC; as well as eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one brother, Clarence Robbins, and a sister, Lucille Riedel.The family will greet friends Saturday, June 22, 2019, from 1:00-2:00 pm in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home in Kingsport, Tennessee. Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm with Dr. Ken Sprinkle officiating.Graveside Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
