Martha Winstead

Martha P. “Bosie” Winstead, 57, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 9, 1961, in Kingsport, to the late Andrew and Georgia Herron Winstead.Martha enjoyed taking rides in the country and carrying her boom box and dancing. She was especially fond of her dolls and pocketbooks. Her favorite television programs were Little House on the Prairie and The Walton’s.She attended the Spiritual Church in Jesus.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Winstead and Lou Ina Peters; brother, Ernest Winstead; great nephew, Joseph Hammonds.Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Mary Smith and special brother-in-law, Ivan, Glenna Stanley (Jim); aunt, Gaynella Thacker; nieces, Barbara Sloan (Stephen), Christy Roberts (Troy), Lisa Hammonds, Rhonda Jones (Rick), Donna Lawson and Rebecca Ball; nephews, David Peters (Amy) and Gary Peters (Lori); great nieces and nephews, Joshua Necessary (Amanda), Amber Necessary, Nathaniel Necessary and fiance’, Breanna, Katlen Smith, Samantha Johnson, Steven Johnson, Ashley Hammonds, Donia Hammonds, Brittany Necessary, Shane Hammonds, Drew Hammonds, Dusty Holtsclaw, Megan Thacker, Waylon Peters and Dylan Thacker; several great-great nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends 5:00-6:45 pm Tuesday, May 7, 2019, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Cecil Necessary officiating. Music will be provided by the Collins Family and Garry Necessary.Graveside Service will be conducted Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 11:00 am at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
