Mary Ann Crews Carswell, 61, of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, November 1, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 9, 1954 in Sullivan County, TN to the late Rev. Carl D. Crews and Mary Ann Dixon Crews.Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved Southern Gospel music and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.She retired as a Supervisor at Kingsport Answering Service after twenty years of service. Mary was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.In addition to her parents he was preceded in death by her brother, Clifford Crews.Left to cherish her memory are her husband of forty-five years, Frank L. Carswell; daughter, Amy Carswell Coffey; son, Lee Carswell and wife Angie; sisters, Janet Moody and husband Phil, Charlotte Atwood and husband Dr. Larry Atwood; brother, Rev. James Crews and wife Jewell; grandchildren, Ashley Carswell, Olivia Carswell and Branson Carswell.The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 pm Friday, November 6, 2015 at Higher Ground Baptist Church, 1625 Lynn Garden Drive, Kingsport. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7 pm with Dr. Cecil Sturgill and Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating. Music will be under the direction of Barry Epps and the Higher Ground Baptist Church Choir and Orchestra.A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life. Serving as pallbearers, Aaron Rose, John Rose, Caleb Rose, Michael Crews, David Shivell and Andrew Street. Dear Frank, Amy, Lee and all sweet family members....I share your sorrow in the passing of your beloved Mary. What a precious soul....My prayers for you that God will comfort you as only He can and you will remember daily that this is not good-bye, only see you in a little while where there will be no pain and no sorrow. I love you all and am so sorry that I am unable to attend Mary's memorial service.
