Matilda Frances Smith

Matilda Frances Smith, 87, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Matilda was born on January 31, 1932, in Sullivan County, TN to the late Landon and Margaret Jackson. Matilda was always happy, and she loved to joke and laugh. She loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family.She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Smith; sons, Jimmy and Eugene Smith; daughter, Eva Jane Smith; grandson, James Smith; brothers, Pierce and Frank Jackson; and sister, Perlie Mae Tesnear.Those left to cherish Matilda’s memory are her sons, Ivan Smith (Mary) and Dewey Smith; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of friends and other relatives.A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019, at 3:30 pm in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
