Mickey L. Carberry, of Kingsport, went home to be with his Savior surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.He attended Sullivan High School and was an outstanding basketball player. Mickey retired from Sears in 1992, and six months later he started his own contracting business working for Sears and Lowe’s. He was a deacon at Bays Mountain Baptist Church for many years, and he loved his church family as his own.Mickey was preceded in death his mother and stepfather, Skeet and Bruno Littleton; father, Basil Carberry; sister, Joyce Byrd; mother-in-law, Claudia Gillenwater.Those left to cherish Mickey’s memory are his wife and soulmate of 49 years, Cathy Carberry; daughter, Tammy Carberry; son, Chad Carberry and wife Leslie; grandchildren, Hannah and husband Thomas Slaughter, Jozey and husband Aaron Minnick and Elijah Carberry; great-grandson, Mason Minnick; father-in law, Barney Gillenwater; sister, Betty Bryant; brother, Bobby Carberry, and a host of loving church family and friends.The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Bays Mountain Baptist Church, 2000 Meadowview Parkway, Kingsport, TN. A Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Tim Nelson officiating.An Entombment Committal Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Oak Hill Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be church family and friends.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bays Mountain Baptist Church Building Fund.The care of Mickey L. Carberry and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
