Minnie Ruth Dingus

Minnie Ruth Dingus, 90, of Hiltons, VA went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 21, 2021, at her residence.She was born February 17, 1931 in Nickelsville, VA to the late J.H. and Laura Ellen Meade. Minnie was a loving, devoted and a very giving mother. She was known for having never met a stranger and had a passion for caring for people on the streets because she believed she may be “entertaining angels unaware”. Minnie had a green thumb and loved to work in her flower and vegetable garden. She enjoyed preparing large meals for family and friends and attending her church, First Assembly of Kingsport. Above all, she enjoyed time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Glenn Dingus, Sr.; sons, J.C. and David Dingus; and her siblings.Those left to cherish Minnie’s memory are her daughters, Diana Wilson, Cathy McCracken and Shirley King; sons, Glenn Dingus (Kathy) and Gary Dingus; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Meade/Scarberry Cemetery, Route #3, Castlewood, VA with Randy Shupe officiating.Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am.
