Myrtle Johnson, 96, of Kingsport, entered into her heavenly home on her birthday January 16, 2022, with her daughter by her side. Myrtle was born in Hancock Co. on January 16, 1926, to the late James and Eva Manis Albright. She enjoyed arts/crafts, gardening, mowing and just being in the outdoors. Myrtle retired from psychiatric nursing with over 20 years of service. In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and the father of her daughter, Eugene Johnson. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brenda Johnson; grandson, Mark Johnson; great-grandson, Austin Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, January 20, 2022, in the Garden of Meditation at Oak Hill Memorial Park with her nephew, Tim Hammonds officiating. We will miss Ms Johnson. She was such a good neighbor and friend. She helped me take care of David when he was working in his woodworking shop. She would call out to him “Mr Dave. Are you ok?” And I was always amazed at her mowing her yard at her age. And she did that until about two years ago. She seemed so happy when we would talk over the fence. We miss those meetings but so thankful for her sweet daughter, Brenda.
We will keep the family in our thoughts and prayers.
