Regardless of where she lived, the Volunteers – and her orange and white attire – were always close to her heart.Nancy was well known for her creativity and endless curiosity with a particular interest in painting and crocheting. It was said she could paint anything that didn’t move, and her yarn was never far from her side - up to the very end. Other hobbies included crafting of all kinds, gardening and planting flowers, bird watching and feeding, genealogy and traveling. She also had a generous heart, serving actively in her church and donating hundreds of homemade items to From the Heart, an organization that provides hand-stitched gifts as an act of solace and comfort for those who need it.Whether you knew Nancy for decades or days, she left an indelible impression. From singing Christmas carols around the neighborhood to teaching and volunteerism, she thrived on making connections with others and helping them feel welcomed. If there’s one thing to remember about Nancy, it is that she treasured her family above all else. Please join the family for a visitation on Friday, September 2, 2022, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Oak Hill Funeral Home, 800 Truxton Dr., Kingsport, TN, which will be followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 7 p.m.All are welcome to attend the Graveside Service on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Holston View Cemetery, 1383 US-23, Weber City, Va.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nancy’s favorite organization, From the Heart.
