Patricia DeHart Barsoumian (neeโ€™ Sambrook) passed away peacefully at home after an 18 year battle with multiple myeloma. She was surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren and great grandchild. Patricia was born in 1942 and raised in Scunthorpe, England. At the age of 16, while attending the Kingston College of Art, she met her husband, Ron DeHart, who was serving in the US Airforce and stationed in England. They married, moved to the US, and went on to have five children together before divorcing after 25 years of marriage. She has remained friends with Ron and his life partner, Susan, until the time of her death. Patricia returned to school in 1981, and earned her BFA at Massachusetts College of Art. After graduating, she worked as an Admissions counselor for the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston, Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Ma., and Maine Photographic Workshops in Rockport, Maine. She is remembered fondly by former coworkers and students whose paths she crossed while doing a job that she absolutely loved. We thank all of those who have shared their condolences and happy memories of her with us, it means so much to our family to know how many lives that she touched. Patriciaโ€™s creativity and spirit, her smile and sense of humor, and her love of family, will be cherished memories for everyone who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Iris Sambrook, and her sister June Beezley. Patricia leaves behind five children, Valerie Baker (Jeff), Van DeHart (Cindi), Vincent DeHart (Tamayco), Ronald DeHart (Dawn) and Vanessa Williams (Jason), and her beloved grandchildren and great- grandchild, Christina, Jakin, Madison, Cole, Olivia, Stephanie, Dane, Carson, and Vincent. She also leaves two brothers, Clive and Peter, and many loving nieces and nephews. No formal services for Patricia are planned at this time. A private memorial for family will be held at a later date. The care of Patricia DeHart Barsoumian (neeโ€™ Sambrook) and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
