Patricia “Pat,” “Trish,” or “Tricia” Ann Moffitt Clevenger, 75, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on January 25, 2019 after an aggressive and swift battle with Pancreatic Cancer.Patricia was born in Kingsport to Carson Talmadge Moffitt and Ethel Marie Tipton Moffitt on January 10, 1944. She graduated high school from Lynn View High School in 1962. She worked at John Sevier Middle school as a Special Education Teacher’s Aid and at Kingsport Times News for many years before she retired to spend time raising her Grandchildren, whom she loved very much and who she insisted call her “Grandmother.”Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Carson and Ethel Moffitt, and three siblings, John I. Moffit, Talmadge Moffitt, and Jane Moffitt.She is survived by her sister, Judy Gross, her cousin Carolyn Salery, her ex-husband and loving father to their sons, Fred L. Clevenger, three sons, Mark Clevenger, his girlfriend Rhonda Norris, Tim Clevenger, his wife Penny, and Michael Clevenger and his fiancé Rebecca Vires, her four grandchildren, Matthew Clevenger, Kendra Clevenger and her wife Lia Bevins, Kristen Clevenger Duke and her husband Goodman, and Alison Clevenger, and her three great grandchildren, Judah, Kallie-Jane, and soon-to-be great grandson, Goodman, as well as many nieces and nephews along with their families.Patricia was loved by so many, always had a smile on her face, and loved to pass the time by reading novels, watching movies and football, and caring for those she loved. She was the ultimate caregiver, having raised her three boys, Mark, Tim, and Michael, and her many grandchildren when they were young, as well as her mother in her later years, and her sister Janey. She loved to eat Granny Smith Green Apple Cake, and frequented Pals for sweet tea and frenchie fries. She loved spending time with her best girlfriend, Louise, and hanging out with her beloved dogs and cats.A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 Oak Hill Funeral Home in Kingsport, TN in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel.Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 7:00 pm with Pastor David Salley officiating.A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Resurrection.Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to fellowship in a celebration of Patricia’s life at 901 Clearwood Ave., Kingsport, TN.The care of Patricia “Pat,” “Tricia” Ann Moffitt Clevenger and her family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
