Patsy Moffitt Bowman, 84, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Holston Manor. Patsy was a kind and gentle soul who loved to laugh and sing.She was born in Scott County, VA and had lived in Kingsport most of her life. Patsy was a 1953 graduate of Lynn View High School where she was a cheerleader and there she met the love of her life, Talmage. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Oakwood Forest Christian Church.Patsy worked at the Kingsport Press, Donihe Graphics and volunteered with various school and church organizations.She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Bellamy Lane; father, Vernoy Bellamy; husband, Talmage Moffitt; daughter, Lisa Moffitt Lawson; granddaughter, Jama Lynn Lawson; brother, Danny Bellamy; second husband, Robert Bowman.Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kathy Moffitt; grandson, Landon Moffitt; granddaughters, Cara Lawson and Kaitlyn Moffitt; sister-in-law, Theresa Bellamy; special life-long friend, Don Little and many other cousins and friends.Patsy loved her grandchildren and would “light up” when they would visit her even late in life. She often said, “If everyone had a friend like Don Little this world would be a better place.”The family will receive friends Monday, June 10, 2019, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 pm with Dr. Ed Clevenger officiating.Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers, Don Little, Allen Lester, Bobby Lester, Landon Moffitt, Steve Laube, Wade Stapleton and Mike Dotson.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Colonial Heights Christian Church Special Needs Prom in honor of her precious granddaughter, Kaitlyn. Patsy loved going to the Special Needs Prom and seeing the pure joy and love on the guests faces.
