Patsy Eleanor Hill

Patsy Eleanor Johnson Hill, 79, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022.She was born in Big Stone Gap, VA and moved to Kingsport at the age of five living in Michigan a short period of time then returned to Kingsport. Patsy was a graduate of Sullivan High School. In 1961, she married and started her family.She worked hard to support her family. Patsy became disabled at a young age from an auto immune disease and is now free from all her pain. Family was everything to her, she loved them all, near and far.Patsy enjoyed taking care of people, and she was lovingly known as the neighborhood, “Mamaw”. Patsy enjoyed crafts, coloring, sewing and reading. She was a member of Greenvale Baptist Church where she served as the church secretary. From 1977 until 1982, Patsy worked and retired from Gateway Sports Wear (sewing industry).She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ora and Alvonia Dickenson; parents; James and Mary Johnson; son, Staff Sergeant Glenn Harper; granddaughter-in-law, Brittney Dishner.Those left to cherish Patsy’s memory are her daughter, Sandra Spell (Danny); son, Ricky Harper (Kim); father of her children, James Harper; grandchildren, Tori Smith (Rachel), Cody Dishner, Gracie Cappetto, Sasha Hull (Steve), Amanda Landry (Randall), Ellie Roberts (Josh), Becca Harper (William); a dozen great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Rose; and brother, “Jimmy” James Johnson (Shirley); several nieces and nephews also survive.A Graveside Service will be conducted at 3 pm on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Good Shepherd presided by Bill Castle.In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in Patsy’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.To share condolences and memories with the family please visit www.oakhillfh.comThe care of Patsy Eleanor Johnson Hill and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
