Paul Cecil Sparks

Paul Cecil Sparks, 89, of Church Hill, TN, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at the Nova Health and Rehabilitation Center, Weber City, VA. He was born on August 15, 1928, in Scott County, VA to the late, John and Myrtle Starnes Sparks.Paul was a good man who was very compassionate about his family, especially his sister, Edith McCracken. He loved animals and enjoyed playing golf and watching basketball.Mr. Sparks was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army having obtained the rank of Corporal. He was a graduate of E.T.S.U. earning his B.S. Degree in Business Administration. Paul was a retired Real Estate Broker and small business owner.He was member of Starnes Bluff Evangelical Methodist Church, Starnes Bluff, VA.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Pippin Sparks; son, Steven Sparks; sister, Anna Ruth Taylor; brothers, Claude A. Sparks, H. Eugene Sparks, James E. Sparks and John S. Sparks, Jr.Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Edith McCracken; special friend, Lester Robinette; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6, 2018, from 11:30 am until 12;30 pm in the Fireside Room at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.The American Legion Hammond Post #3/#265 will conduct full military honors at 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Sparks will be interred at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.The care of Paul Cecil Sparks and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremations Services.Read Obituary
