Peter C. Guenther, 77, of Blountville, TN passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born May 28, 1941, in Langenbielau, Germany to the late Konrad and Else Berger Guenther.Peter retired as a sales representative with IBM where he earned numerous sales awards and his work allowed him to travel the world.He received his BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from Case University in Cleveland, OH and his Master’s Degree from S.U.N.Y. State at Binghamton University of New York. He enjoyed woodworking.Mr. Guenther has been a resident of Brookdale in Colonial Heights for the past three years.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Marie Bendfeldt; brothers, Eberhard Guenther and Joachim Guenther.Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Craig Guenther; sister, Anneliese Eichner; brother, Clemens Guenther; former wife, Jerilyn Guenther and his “fur baby”, Mop.The family will receive friends 5:00-6:00 pm Monday, January 7, 2019, at Oak Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Jim Fields officiating.The family extends their sincere gratitude to Peter’s caregiver, Elizabeth Eastes and to Tommy Guy, Charles McKenzie and Joseph Kilby for their assistance on the family farm. Also, a special thank you to the staff of Brookdale, Colonial Heights for their compassionate care of Peter.The care of Peter C. Guenther and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.

Uncle Pete, My love for you was and always run deep. I will miss our e-mails and phone calls. You were on of my biggest Cheerleaders...I Love you very much. I will cherish may "walking stick you made me" It stands proudly in my front entryway..
