Richard Hubert Knapp

Richard Hubert Knapp, 82, of Kingsport, TN passed away, Thursday, January 25, 2018, peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ. He resided in Cliffwood Beach, moving to Freehold, with his daughter Mary Denko, prior to relocating to Tennessee with his other daughter, Theresa Knapp. He worked as a manager with Medicia Pharmaceutical, Dayton, NJ, retiring in 1996. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1956 to 1960.Richard was predeceased by his 1st wife, Roberta (Hoefling); his 2nd wife, Isabella Carol (Ryan); his parents, Joseph and Corinne (Smith) Knapp; and two brothers, Joseph and Robert Knapp. He is survived by his loving children, Teresa Knapp of Kingsport, TN; Mary Denko of Robbinsville, NJ; Richard Knapp of Jamesburg, NJ; Gregory Knapp of Hollywood, FL; Corinne Schmidt of Jackson, NJ; and four step daughters; a brother, Thomas Knapp; Twenty two cherished grandchildren and 18 precious great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.At the direction of family, Richard was privately cremated in Tennessee. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 2-4PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735.
