Richard Leon Moore

Richard Leon Moore, 82, of Kingsport, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Erwin Healthcare after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.Richard was born on October 8, 1936, in Memphis, TN, to the late Ernest and Maggie Moore. He was a devoted husband, he loved his cats, and golfing. He was a charter member of the Crossings Golf Club. Richard retired after 29 years as a chemical operator from Eastman and he was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church.He was also preceded in death by seven siblings. Richard always said, “There were seven of us boys, and we each had a sister.” Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Glenda Ann Reedy Moore; his precious pets, Sassy and Sophie; brother-in-law, Robert Reedy (Amy); sisters-in-law, Carolyn Reedy and Audrey Moore; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his golfing buddies; and best friend, Bubba.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or Erwin Healthcare Center Activities Dept., 100 Stalling Lane, Erwin, TN 37650 or to the charity of your choice.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Erwin Healthcare for their care and compassion.It was Richard’s wish that no formal services be held.The care of Richard Leon Moore and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
