Rita “Karen” Jones, 67, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 11, 2021, at her residence.She was born June 7, 1953, in Kingsport, to the late James Blizard and Beulah Guy Williams.Karen was a loving and kind Christian lady who enjoyed helping others. She attended Mill Creek Baptist Church.Karen enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden and flowers. She truly had a “green thumb.” Her greatest joy in life was spending quality time with her family and friends.In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Jones; son, Kevin Lee Jones; niece, Shannon Lane; several aunts, uncles and cousins.Those left to cherish Karen’s memory are her sister, Belinda Blizard; brother, James “Tim” Blizard (Judy); nephews, Steven Rogers (Robin) and Jeremy Lemons (Misty); niece, Beth Cross (Billy); special friend, Jerry Crawford and his family; numerous other relatives, life-long friends and neighbors whom she loved dearly.The Entombment Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 15, 2021, in the Chapel Mausoleum at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pastor Jim Mullins will officiate. My family is so sorry to hear about Ms. Karen's passing...our hearts go out to each and everyone of you. I met Ms. Karen because my son Kota, worked with her at Dollar Tree. She was always so sweet and joyful with a smile on her face. She radiated kindness and caring for everyone she met.

I'm so sorry for your loss, there is nothing that I can say to take away the pain, but I am sure that Karen is resting in the arms of our savior as we speak, and that her life on earth will be looked upon fondly, with great love. I have been working with Kim for almost a year, and although she is my "virtual" work friend, she and I have gotten close, especially when discussing our relationships with our families. She has always spoken so fondly of her daddy and Karen, with so much love and gratitude in her voice, when she talks about the memories, and the family time together. Kim and I spoke the day after Easter, and we both talked about how happy we were that we got to spend that day with our families, especially after this last 12 months. It was obvious from the conversation, that the love between Jerry and Karen was a once in a lifetime love, and that Karen filled an empty place in Kim's heart as well. I hope everyone can take some peace with the fact that Karen is now in a much better place than the rest of us, and I just encourage everyone to be thankful for the quality time they got to spend with this amazing woman, she was a true blessing in their lives. The love of a dear friend never goes away just because they aren't with us on earth anymore, they are always with us in our thoughts and the littles everyday things. Karen was loved by so many. She now dances and tends to the flower gardens of God's kingdom. Peace to Karen's family and friends.

Aunt Karen was one of a kind. She loved me like one of her own. When I was a little girl and we would go visit, she always gave me a “take home bag” of treats. (Always some chocolate covered raisins) if it was summer time, we would go out and pick some flowers. She always had the most beautiful flowers. I remember Kevin buying a ton of fireworks for the 4th of July and Karen making homemade ice cream. When she met Gabe she said he was the most beautiful baby she had ever seen and how proud she was of me. I would give anything to see her one more time. But, I know she is no longer in any pain and happy to be reunited with Kevin and Jim. I’m going to miss her so much. Until we meet again. 💔💔💔
I am so sad to hear of my dear friends step mother Karen passing away. I hope knowing she is now an angel watching over her family and friends will give you peace and comfort at such a sad time. I will keep the family in my prayers.
