Ronald Russell McNamara, Sr., 75, of Blountville, TN passed away Monday, January 28, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 5, 1943, in Bristol, VA to the late Edward and Genelle McNamara.Ronald worked in the glass industry for many years and retired from AGC/AFG. Following retirement, he was employed at the ADESA Auto Auction.His hobbies included fishing, camping, boating and riding his motorcycle.Ronald attended Parkway Baptist Church, Bristol, TN.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty-four years, Jackie Ely McNamara; son, Ronald Russell McNamara, Jr.; daughter, Vickie McNamara White and husband, Keith White; granddaughters, Nicole Johnson and Kaitlyn Moore; step-granddaughter, Tara Baker and husband, Cory; great-grandson, Colton Eli Mullins; step-great grandson, Gavyn Baker; sister-in-law, Barbara Hoskins and her sons, Shawn Leonard and wife Sandie, Bryan Leonard and wife, Chris; brother-in-law, Freddy Ely and his daughter, Wendy; best buddy, his cocker spaniel, “Rocky Top”; several beloved cousins.Per Ronald’s request, he will be cremated and there will be no formal services.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.orgThe family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Avalon Hospice, Ronald’s special nurse, Krista Gray, Dr. Shao and his staff and the medical team at Vanderbilt Cancer Institute.The care of Ronald Russell McNamara, Sr. and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
