Russell N. Ferguson Jr.

Russell N. Ferguson, Jr., 91, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 5, 2021, at his residence.He was born January 6, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Russell Ferguson, Sr. and Litha Wolfe Ferguson.Russell was an exceptional father and a legend in the state of Kentucky for his work in law enforcement. He retired as a Kentucky State Trooper following thirty-five years of service.Mr. Ferguson was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, life time member of the Association of the U.S. Army, Fort Campbell Chapter, The Fraternal Order of Police and First Broad Street United Methodist Church.He enjoyed woodworking, building things, was an avid fan of classical music and he loved dogs.Russell was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, First Airborne Division.In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Mary D.
