Sara Jo Dickey, of Kingsport, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center with her loving family by her side.Sara was born on August 28, 1932, in Rochester, NY to the late Dr. Joseph and Mrs. Lois Dickey. She had worked as a receptionist for the State Department at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France.Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Michael Dickey and Christopher Dickey; daughter, Jane Hampton (Rick); grandchildren, Erin Vance (Jordan), Matthew Dickey (Brittany), Hannah Hickey (Jordan), Aliesha Stelter; great-grandchildren, Madison Evans, Alyssa Evans, Daniel Evans, Tristan Dickey, Joseph Dickey, Emma Stelter, Aubrey Stelter; sister, Linda Edwards (James); and several nieces and nephews also survive.A Graveside Service will be conducted at 3pm on Saturday, April 20, 2019, in Section E of Oak Hill Memorial Park with Mr. Tim Vaughn officiating. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the graveside at 2:45 pm.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU 5th floor staff of Holston Valley Medical Center.The care of Sara Jo Dickey and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Sara Jo and l had a lot of good times together and have been friends for over 50 years. The last time l visited her, she didn't recognize me, but once l told her who l was, we had a good visit. She will be greatly missed.
