I was looking up Scott after all these years and found this. I was at DBHS with Scott for the 1972-1973 school year. I was living with my cousins, Terry and Jerry Bowyer, and my uncle had a 'farm' in somewhere near Nickelssville, VA that had some caves scattered around the property. Scott showed us how to explore those caves and also educated us very well regardiing what we were looking at while we were in them. I also worked with Scott at the Center Street Resturant. The owner, Mr Mays, if I remember correctly, fed us well. There was a table in the back for the employees. I'll never forget Scott showing up early for work, munching on a burger and fries, with his nose in a text book trying to get a jump on his school work. I learned a lot from Scott just by being around him at work, school, or just hanging out. After that school year, I moved back to Georgia. Scott was debating whether or not to attend college and embarked on a roundabout through the southeast U.S. He stayed with my family for a couple of weeks during that time. My father was a retired Marine and also a hugh academic. I remember Scott spending hours discussing issues with my father that were way over my head at the time. Scott was unknowingly a role model for me at a time in my life when I desperately needed direction. I'm heartbroken to learn that Scott passed away just a few months ago.

Sorry and sad to hear of Scott's passing. Haven't seen or had contact with the Fryes for years, but they were an important part of my growing up. Memories from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and from Cherokee Lake. Prayers for peaceful hearts for Mama Frye and the Frye boys as they go through this valley.
